puppy package

Catch all the fun and mischief with this special package.

Big-pawed puppy perfection does not last. I’m especially eager to help you remember this cuteness, because I know you’ve got your hands full with training and socialising, and it’s easy to think “I’ll do that soon.” But then they’re grown – and everything about their smallness will fade faster than you can say “have you seen my other shoe?”.

Let me make it easy for you to book three sessions to remember it all. Designed flexibly but predictably, you get to catch more than one phase – and keep all your favourites.

wall art, albums, displays, and digital files

Don’t leave your images to gather virtual dust on a hard drive. My products are built to last and complement any decor.

Frequently Asked Questions

WILL MY DOG BE SUITABLE FOR A PHOTO SESSION?

If your dog is excitable, reactive, nervous, camera-shy, or all that and more, they are still suitable. My years volunteering for rescue groups means I have worked with every obedience level and character trait known to canine-kind! I have never met a dog I couldn’t photograph. If you have a specific concern, we can address it – just drop me a line and tell me about it!

MY DOG DOESN’T EVEN KNOW SIT, CAN YOU STILL PHOTOGRAPH HIM/HER?

I can (see answer above). I will say that if your dog knows basic obedience it does add to the whole experience – a great time to book a shoot is right after they finish puppy school. But feel free to email me regardless

MY DOG CAN’T BE OFF-LEAD, WILL THAT BE AN ISSUE?

Not an issue at all. 90% of the rescues I work with can’t be off-lead either, it doesn’t prevent me from taking great photos. Leashes can be removed in post production.

WHAT AGE SHOULD MY DOG BE?

Any age at all! I have lots of experience with puppies and I highly recommend booking a session while they’re still young as they grow up so fast (my Puppy Package is ideal for new parents). Puppy school graduates are my favourite age as all that learning is still fresh in their brain. I photograph dogs young and old though, please don’t let their age be a deciding factor. One piece of advice I do have is don’t put it off. Many of my clients tell me that their last dog died unexpectedly and they regret not getting photos done.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH OTHER PETS?

I do indeed but I’m best known in canine circles so the majority of my bookings do tend to be for dog sessions.

CAN MY WHOLE FAMILY BE IN THE PHOTOS?

Family can absolutely jump in one or two photos, but keep in mind that I am a pet photographer so our session’s main focus will be on your furry family member.

CAN WE DO THE SHOOT AT HOME?

If your home has nice light and a beautiful garden with space to run then I’m definitely open to that idea!

WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

Light plays a huge part in the photos I take. If there is rain or a lot of cloud cover forecast we’ll need to reschedule. I also don’t shoot in high temperatures or strong winds as, in my experience, your dog won’t be comfortable and that will be reflected in the photos from the shoot. My number one goal is to get the best possible images for you so sessions may need to be rescheduled more than once.

MY DOG IS SICK, CAN YOU FIT IN A LAST MINUTE BOOKING?

Where possible my schedule can absolutely be adjusted to accommodate urgent sessions for pets that are terminally ill.

DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?

Yes! I am completely flexible with interest-free payment plans. You can choose your own payment amount and schedule. The order will go into production once the final payment is made. Don’t want to wait? I also accept credit cards.

DO YOU SELL GIFT VOUCHERS?

Yes, I do. It’s $800 for a Portrait Session voucher for one pet. That includes $550 credit (which is my minimum spend requirement) so the recipient doesn’t have to spend any money on products. You can buy vouchers in my online store: https://www.ruthlessphotos.com/product/portrait-session-gift-voucher/

DO YOU EVER COME TO ANY OTHER CITIES?

I come to Canberra quite regularly. I love shooting there, especially in Autumn.

With four dogs of my own and two other businesses I very rarely travel anywhere else (for work or pleasure!). Occasionally I can have my arm twisted but I require multiple bookings and a commitment from each client to purchase a collection. Please get in touch if you’d like your area added to the request list.

Rufus

“We love our puppy photos, you managed to capture the essence of Rufus. Having previously had Ruth take photos of our older dog we knew the pics would be awesome but we’re just blown away with the outcome. I would highly recommend that if you’re thinking of booking a session with Ruthless Photos, just do it!”

Margaret, Newcastle

Albert & Penny

“Ruth found some excellent places for photos. Albert and Penny each provided her with some different challenges, but she worked with them and captured some amazing photos. She captured Penny and Albert so well, and the canvases have been much admired by everyone that visits our house.”
