Windy had an unknown amount of time left when I was booked to photograph her. She was terminally ill with cancer and there were no treatment options.
As I was driving to Windy, Archie (who you may recognise from my Tails of Sydney book) and Echo’s home for their session she had a seizure. We sat with her for a while knowing we had to proceed but not knowing if she had the steam. Thankfully, despite the heat, she perked up and I was able to get lots of lovely photos of her. She was given her wings the following week.
Here’s a look at the full slideshow and artworks order from my session with Windy, Archie and Echo in December. The printed order is a modified Superia wall collection in acrylic, a 16×24″ acrylic, a 20×20″ acrylic, a 20×30″ canvas, a 4×6″ block, the full digital collection and some other goodies.

When I found out Windy was sick I wanted to have Ruth capture her as I love the photos she took of Arch years ago.I wanted to have the shoot at home, it was where Windy loved to be. She had her first grand mal seizure not long before Ruth’s arrival.It was hot, she was tired and unwell but Wind perked up and Ruth was able to capture some beautiful photos of her, Arch and Echo. We said goodbye to Windy one week later.Ruth is a master of her craft – the dogs were suitably uncooperative, it was hot, and a backyard location shoot is highly unusual. I am so thankful to Ruth for the photos that now adorn the walls, where my beautiful girl looks over me and her mates every day.
