Remember Sam the homeless white Staffy? When SBTCV Rescue saw he was in need of a home they offered to take him on if his owners could fly him to Melbourne. He arrived last Saturday with an open wound on his leg. His rescuer took him to the vet where he had to undergo some costly surgical procedures and have x-rays taken. He’s on the mend now and will soon have a clean bill of health. However, SBTCV Rescue rely entirely on donations from the public, so this unexpected expense has hit them hard.

In a small attempt to help I suggested a raffle. Two other Staffy loving businesses got on board to help also, so the prizes are as follows:

Ist prize: A Ruthless Leather collar to the value of AU$150*
2nd prize: A AU$50 voucher for the My Staffy online store
3rd prize: A Wolf’s Den custom-made polar fleece dog coat*

* These prizes include delivery within Australia. Overseas winners can choose to pay extra for international delivery.

Tickets are $5 each or three for $10 and can be purchased via the SBTCV Rescue website. The draw will be held on Sunday 19th September and the winner will be notified by email.

Speaking of other white bull breeds in need… Bully went for his cancer surgery about eight weeks ago and he’s now 100% better. His owner also managed to find dog friendly accommodation, so they’re living together again. Gotta love a happy ending!

UPDATE: Due to overwhelming support SBTCV Rescue have already reached their target of $800. They can no longer accept PayPal payments due to their restrictions on selling raffle tickets. If anyone still wants tickets you can send a cheque to SBTCV Rescue, P.O. Box 73, Kyneton, VIC 3444. It must be received by last mail on 17th September. To ensure your numbers are allocated send an email to donna.treadwell1@three.com.au and she’ll email your ticket numbers to you.

Thank you all so much for your support. Sam went to his new forever home today. I had a lovely long chat with his new owner who has promised to send me some photos in a few weeks when Sam has settled in to his new home with his new sister. Another happy ending, yay!!!
