Cocoa the Dog is Bruno the Dog‘s girlfriend. Conveniently enough, she’s owned by one of my closest friends, so when I have a collar the needs to be modeled or a lens that needs to be tested I often call upon them to help me. These photos are the result of three such occasions over the last six months.

Her owner is a certified dog trainer and Cocoa loves nothing more than showing off her tricks!

We call this her blue steel. She’s very good at it.

She’s also very good at looking derpy!

Cocoa was adopted from Sydney Dogs and Cats Home about a year ago. I think it’s safe to say she landed well and truly on her feet.

I don’t know about you, but if I woke up to this face every morning I reckon I’d have a permanent smile on my face!

Gibbons is very high up there on my list of favourite dogs. He’s such a happy dog with a huge lust for life.

I’ve yet to meet a dog that doesn’t like a Cuz toy, but with some it really brings out their extra “special” side. My friend reckons they should be called derp toys!

I didn’t bring the flirt pole for Gibbons as we were just doing a mini session in their back garden, but he sniffed it out of my toy bag as soon as I arrived so I figured we may as well try for some jumping shots. I think his owners will need to buy him one, he went crazy for it.

Apparently it’s good for tugging on too.

“You’re leaving so soon, nice treat dispensing lady?”

Thanks for the good times Gibbons, you’re awesome!

With everyone busy over the holiday season it had been several weeks since I last took rescue photos. So last week I had two big sessions to try and play catch-up.

If you know anyone looking for a dog to join their family please share this post.

I won’t lie to you – I knew Fetching Dog‘s Gambit was 99% adopted when I took his “adoption photos”. Generally with odds like that I’ll cancel the shoot, but I had seen many photos of Gambit on Facebook over the last few weeks and I was itching to photograph him before he went to his new home. Just for me, for fun. Because JUST LOOK AT THAT FACE!!!

Gambit has an underbite which makes him look like he’s permanently pouting. Isn’t it just adorable? He also has an extraordinarily long face which I promise I only exaggerated with a wide angle lens in one photo! [Ok, maybe two.]

Gambit’s gone to live with Izzy and her people. He couldn’t have hoped for a better start to the rest of his life. Good luck gorgeous boy – we’ll be in touch for a Bruno play date!
