Pet photography enthusiasts, are you following our Zoomies Pet Photography Workshop Facebook page? If you’re not you’ll be missing out on a wealth of valuable hints and tips – before and afters, Q&As, video tutorials and more. Some people seem to think that we use voodoo, but it’s really not that hard to make beautiful images, once you know how.

Here are some of the B&As that I shared. If you click on the photo (while viewing this post in a browser) it will open in Facebook and you can click on the arrows in the top right hand corner to view the image full screen.

Do you find that when you photograph black dogs they end up looking more navy than black? See the comments on Facebook for a quick tutorial on how to remove colour casts using Adobe Photoshop.

This last one is a different kind of before and after – it highlights how my style has evolved in the last few years. I might revisit this image in another three years, just to see where my journey has taken me!

If you’d like to join us on our pet photography workshop in September there are still a couple of places left for the Brisbane one. Head on over to our website for full details .

Sorry it’s been so quiet around here. Those that live in Sydney will know why – it’s been raining FOR WEEKS!! I was holding off on this month’s adopt me post in the hope that I’d have more to add, but it looks like that’s not going to be happening any time soon. Please share this post around to help these dogs find their forever homes.

If you received this blog post by email, please click on the heading to open in a web browser and view the gallery as it was intended.

All the dogs are with either Fetching Dogs or Arctic Breed Rescue. Except my boy Bruno, he’s not up for grabs! The two puppies (and their sister who’s not pictured here) are still undergoing treatment for demodex and aren’t quite ready for adoption just yet.

*** Important News ***
I have made some changes to my blog…

It’s now at a new URL, so please update your bookmarks. Email subscribers should continue to receive my posts as normal without any interruption. It makes more sense for my blog to be part of my Ruthless Photos website. (The Ruthless Leather website will be overhauled soon and will have it’s own dedicated blog.)

I’ve increased the site width to allow future images that I post to be the same size as the galleries in my main website. I won’t be resizing the images in previous blog posts, so from this point onwards they don’t look as streamlined as newer posts. It’s not a mistake, I just don’t have time to manually resize several years worth of photos.

Happy Birthday to us!!!

Today is the fourth anniversary of the launch of ruthlessleather.com and to celebrate, not only have I dragged this old photo of none of my dogs or our long since adopted foster dog wearing Ruthless Leather collars out of the archives, we’re also giving away a free 4ft lead with every collar purchased from our website today.

You don’t have to do anything to redeem this great birthday offer, just order and pay for a collar before midnight today (1st April 2014) and we’ll include a 4ft lead, that matches the collar you bought, with your order.
