Monthly Archives: June 2012

We went back to take Kimono and her puppies’ adoption photos yesterday. I was expecting mayhem, but they were all really chilled. Which isn’t surprising, considering how lovely Kimono’s temperament is.

Dashi. I have a major soft spot for him! And Zen! Oh who am I kidding, I have a soft spot for all of them!!

Miso – the runt of the litter – isn’t shown here as she was at the vet on a drip at the time. She seems to be on the mend now but not out of the woods just yet. There are updates on the Fetching Dogs Facebook page.

While they won’t be ready to be adopted for a few weeks, Fetching Dogs is currently taking applications for Kimono and the puppies.

Disclaimer: I may have got the names wrong. Or not!

I’ve done so much photography and editing over the last few days that I’m too tired to talk! So this post will just be pictures. Lots of pretty pictures!

The short-coated dogs are looking for homes through Fetching Dogs and the rest are with Arctic Breed Rescue. Please share this post. Sharing helps dogs find homes.

And while I’m on the subject of my rescue photos I’d like to say thanks to Pretty Fluffy for the lovely feature they ran last Friday. You can check it out here.

Staffy Rescue is a registered animal welfare charity committed to trying to save and rehome as many Staffordshire Bull Terriers and larger bull breed dogs as possible. They are currently having to re-locate their rescue shelter and all the money raised from this fundraiser is going towards rebuilding Staffy Rescue so they can continuing saving these beautiful dogs from death row in the pounds across NSW.

Angel, Chopper and Trixie are all ex-Staffy Rescue dogs, so organising this fundraiser is our way of saying thank you.

It’s been ages since we’ve had time away with the dogs [or without them for that matter] so when I found out that a holiday rental we’ve been to before down the South Coast was available for the Queen’s birthday long weekend I didn’t hesitate to book it. It’s a long drive – especially if you go the wrong way like we did – but it’s worth it. After 6+ hours in the car the dogs were ready to burn off some energy, so before going to buy groceries we gave them a big runaround in the garden. It was bright but overcast. Perfect photography conditions!

Saturday marked a year since Bruno joined our pack so he had a special “Gotcha Day” outing to the beach. As soon as his leash was unclipped he went about “killing” every bit of seaweed in his path. It was beyond ridiculous to watch – he’s such a clown!

As soon as he’d removed any potential threat from the seaweed he decided to play with his favourite Cuz toy.

When all his energy was expended he did some lovely posing while the sun set.

Back at the house Angel and Chopper took their sentinel duties at the window very seriously.

Bruno, not so much!

It would have been wrong to leave without a photo on the terrible 60s carpet.

I also took the opportunity to finally take a family portrait. Bruno decided everyone was being all too serious for his liking, but Chopper didn’t break his pose. What a champion!

If you want to see more photos from our trip you can check out the whole album on Bruno’s page here.
